About the role with WHP

The Trainee CAD Technician will be working closely with the other Technicians and Engineers within the consultancy on a range of projects within Civil Engineering.

Position Overview

* Assisting the Principal CAD Technician

* Producing drawings for Engineers

* Involved within multiple small and large-scale projects

* Provide technical support to engineers

* Attend meetings and site inspections

* Work in a team effectively and communicate any issues to multiple sites

* Producing drawings and plans using AutoCAD and 3D modelling

* To support the group with bid submissions with responses to pre -qualifications and tenders.

* To liaise with divisional group representative to maintain the level of understanding, updates on standards, new protocols, and software as appropriate with a consistent approach across the business


* Ideally a HNC or equivalent within a Civil Engineering / Construction discipline

* Good knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modelling

* Rail or Civil Engineering or knowledge highly advantageous

* Use initiative, be proactive and have the ability to work in a team
