About the Business Administrator Apprentice role:

You will be working in our office based in Southampton on the University Campus. Some of your Key responsibilities will involve making and receiving calls from our Direct Operatives, Subcontractors and Client, and receiving repair appointments via the University's Planon system, ensuring the Operatives Day is organised and liaising with the client for any issues that may occur. You will work closely with the Service Manager to record key business information using excel and identify operational issues and trends as they arise and support the overall contract in the absence of the Service Manager.

The most important elements relating to your work include:

Ordering materials for the operatives and keeping van stock replenished.

Closing jobs down or taking any further action required on a job including raising and closing call outs

Stepping up in the Service Managers' absence or when the business requires it to resource the day smoothly based on ability, trade and priority whilst communicating with the client and Operatives

Ensuring paperwork is kept up to date, signed off, scanned, and recorded in the correct location

Understanding the cost of each job and being able to answer queries from the finance team, you will also be responsible for approving invoices on the system and ensuring timely payment of suppliers and subcontractors

Taking direction from the Service Manager and being happy to respond to their instructions and support the service by taking on extra duties as required by the business

Managing a personal inbox and a communal inbox, answering queries and recording communication logs where necessary

What we are looking for in our Business Administrator Apprentice:

GCSE or Equivalent Qualification in Maths and English

Basic knowledge of building maintenance trades is desirable

Must be eligible to work in the UK

Have own transport and/or be able to independently commute to the site outside of working hours

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
