Based in Edgbaston, Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we're looking for someone who has lived experience of gambling issues, either through their own use or that of a family member, to provide information, advice, support, advocacy, and key work care plans for our clients. Working alongside Practitioners and a Participation Worker, you'll be based at our offices but need to attend a variety of community venues where the service is delivered. You'll also need to work in a way that recognises and values diversity and understands the functional model of gambling, the recovery agenda and problems caused by gambling.

To succeed, you'll need first???hand experience of the harms caused by gambling to individuals, young people, children, families and society and absence from an alcohol or substance misuse problem for at least two years. You'll also need an understanding of a client centred approach to providing services and the ability to work as part of a team and assist with groups, training and promotional events. Self???confident and self???assured, you're happy to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and travel to various locations as required. What's more, you have the communication skills it takes to liaise effectively with other health and social care agencies and are willing to work within the relevant child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health and safety policy and procedural requirements.

This role comes with the opportunity to train towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification ??? City and Guilds Diploma in Adult Care Level 3 ??? with the apprenticeship lasting 12???18 months.

We have two roles available, one role based in Birmingham and the second role is to cover Telford and Worcester.

The salary for this role is GBP12,621.44 - GBP17,142.84 per annum.

This is a fixed term role for one year.

This is a full time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.
