Graduate Civil Engineer Role

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our clients expanding engineering team in the Coventry area.

Their team deliver specialist structural, civil and temporary works solutions to a range of clients across the UK. We are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic individual with a desire to gain experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of commercial and industrial projects.

You may be a recent graduate or have already gained some industry experience but looking to join a fast paced business with an industry leading training programme, broad range of interesting projects and a people focused approach.

As a Graduate Design Engineer you will work on a variety of projects assisting teams in the design and development of commercial and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Work as part of the design team under the supervision of senior members of staff.

Understand multidisciplinary design challenges and participate in their solution.

Understand appropriate design codes, standards and design software and use them under supervision.

Acquire knowledge of the attributes of a professional engineer and record evidence of achievement.

Attend sites and projects where required to carry out site inspections and surveys.

Understand the commercial requirements of projects and the company as a whole.

Essential Criteria:

BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Good level of computer literacy including MS Office.

Motivated to progress to Incorporated or Chartered status

Good level of knowledge and understanding of technical principles underlying Civil Engineering design and practice.

Strong attention to detail, particularly in engineering principles.

Analytical approach to problem solving. Positive, self-motivated and proactive team player.

Good communication skills and ability to express ideas.

Well organised and hold the ability to prioritise work with an effective problem-solving outlook. Ability to work to programme deadlines.

High level of personal and professional integrity and a strong work ethic
