Customer Service Advisor - Apprenticeship Scheme

Location: Oldbury

Hours: Once you're up and running, you'll join our contact centre's rotational shift pattern. Each week, you'll work 36.25 hours from Monday - Friday, with shifts between 8am-10pm.

Salary: You'll have a starting salary of GBP12,000 per annum, rising to GBP14,000 once you've settled in, and are meeting agreed performance levels

Applicants must be able to attend the Virtual Careers Event on Tuesday 30th November 2021 from 18:00pm - 19:30pm. Interviews will then take place on the 2nd and 3rd December.

Successful applicants will then start their induction on Monday 17th January 2022

About the Apprenticeship

We're excited to be running our annual apprenticeship scheme again in Oldbury in 2021. If you're successful, you'll spend the next year learning all about customer service, team working and office skills, as part of the entry-level course we've designed to train beginners and newcomers in our office environment.

When you finish the scheme in 2022, you'll come away with an NVQ qualification and lots of new experience too, while many of our Apprentices move into full time positions in our Customer Service teams once they graduate.

What will I be doing?

The Job
Starting with a 3 week induction from our on-site training team, you'll learn all about us; our systems, products and how we talk to customers on the phone.

Then, with the support of your line manager and experienced colleagues, you'll start taking calls from existing customers yourself, helping them get their day back on track after their vehicle has broken down. Remember, you'll be working in our vibrant contact centre in Oldbury, so help & support is always close by.

Each week, you'll spend 4 days on the contact centre floor with your colleagues, with 1 day dedicated to completing your studying & coursework. All of your studying will be contained to these working hours, so you won't be expected to complete coursework over your evenings or weekends.

The Coursework
Across the year, you'll complete your coursework portfolio as you go. Although you'll be studying, it'll have a different feel to school or college study. Through our training provider 'Catch 22', you'll have the freedom to complete your studies as you see fit, with an online portal available for contacting your tutor for support when you need it.

You'll have your own dedicated personal tutor, who'll regularly visit and meet with you across the scheme to discuss your work, giving you guidance and support to help you continue to develop.

The Qualification
You'll be studying towards an NVQ Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification. The scheme will give you the skills you'll need to push forward in your career, whether you go on to further study, or in future job roles.

Many of our Apprentices move into permanent jobs with us when they graduate the scheme, whilst others go on to further study in Customer Service Level 3 or management apprenticeships too.

The good news is that you don't need any previous experience or knowledge of customer service. If you're enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to work hard to achieve your goals, we'll give you everything else you'll need to be a success.

* Can communicate clearly and effectively, either over the phone or in writing

* Works well alongside others, as part of a larger team
