What will the apprentice be doing?
On any given day you could be building and analysing requirements, identifying and selecting solutions to a range of challenges, deploying and testing applications or providing support to keep the enterprise working. Due to the projects we work on, the various teams we work with, and the variety of projects at any stage of the missile lifecycle at any time, we are often a team that works flexibly and to changing priorities, but we also endeavour to maintain good Project Management practices.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will study for a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions from University of Hertfordshire, fully funded by MBDA. From day one of joining, you'll attend uni 1 day per week of your working week and study will be a blend of virtual and face to face.
The majority of the scheme will be spent with, and supporting, the IS analyst function of the IS Engineering Team. Shorter placements will be undertaken within wider IM function to aid your understanding of IT systems within MBDA.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The most exciting aspect of this opportunity is the future technology that we will use in the business - you'll start your career looking at what we currently use here and now, but through your apprenticeship you'll be gaining experience which will help you to provide the systems of the future
