Location: Wokingham Hospital, Wokingham

Trust / Location: Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust

Covering: Wokingham and surrounding area's

Shift pattern: Primarily: Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00hrs. Some evening and weekend work may be required with the below operational hours: Monday - Friday 08.00 am -20.00 Sat / Sun & bank holidays 09.00-17.00.

Salary: Weekdays £24.61 ph, Saturdays £31.65 ph, Sundays £38.68 ph

The 3 "must haves" for you to be considered for this role:
  • RMN / Relevant and recognised specialist post registration training / UK Registration
  • Specialist experience at Band 6 for 2 years as minimum.
  • A full UK Driving Licence and have use of a car for work purposes

Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 7 (CAMHS) - Wokingham

We are looking to recruit a qualified Clinical Nurse with experience of assessment and treatment of children/adolescents with a wide range of presentations of varying severity. This would require a minimum of 2 years' band 6 experience and worked in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. You will play an important role in the provision of a highly specialist service to young people accepted for treatment within the Berkshire CAMHS Tier 4 Out of Hospital Service.

About the Job
  • Take a lead role in either the home treatment pathway or the day care programme and will hold a nursing clinical lead role in either eating disorders or emotional regulation. They will work in close collaboration with their fellow clinical Nurse specialist to ensure the provision of a high quality and seamless care.
  • Provide highly visible, professional leadership, management, and expertise to the service. They will ensure that the service provided is specialist, of high quality and is responsive to the needs of the patient group.
  • Together with the wider Hospital at Home Service the post holder undertakes responsibility to plan, deliver and monitor the Home Treatment Team services including the provision of the day care programme as well as relevant support for families and carers. They will also work alongside colleagues in the leadership team in the development and implementation of organisational strategies, policies and practices that meet BHFT standards.

About the service

Our service, based in Willow House on the Wokingham Community Hospital site, is a hospital at home service that provides evidence based psychiatric, nursing, and therapeutic interventions for young people under the age of 18presenting withsevere and complex mental health difficultiesassessed as requiring Tier 4 level care,including where these disorders are co-morbid with neurodevelopmental diagnoses:  
  • Serious risk of harm to self; suicidal thoughts and behaviour  
  • Emotional dysregulation and symptoms that would be best described as emerging unstable personality disorder  
  • Eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa,  
  • ARFID and disordered eating in the context of emotional dysregulation, trauma, and other mental disorder.  
  • Low mood, depressive disorder  
  • Early onset psychosis  
  • Severe OCD, complex PTSD 
  • Other psychological disturbance that may adversely affect functioning but falls outside typical diagnostic criteria.   

All young people who are accepted to the service will follow a structured programme, in line withrelevantNICE guidelines (for exampleanorexia nervosa, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation).Interventions are delivered by a multi-disciplinary clinical team comprising of: Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Dietitian, Family Therapist, Teaching staff, Support staff including Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Support Staff, Activity Co-ordinator, Administrators and Managerial Support.
