Following a recent CQC inspection and subsequent GOOD rating this is an exciting time to be joining the IOW NHS Trust.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the Isle of Wight Home Treatment Team for a registered Nurse, qualified Social Worker or registered Occupational Therapist with experience of working with people with acute mental health needs.

We are a friendly professional team based in Newport, Isle of Wight.

The successful candidate will join a caring and compassionate team who work in a flexible and adaptable manner, you will therefore also need to be flexible and adaptable in line with the changing mental health service and be prepared to work your allocated hours over 7 days a week in a mix of shifts varying from 9am - 5pm and 2pm -10pm.

The role involves a variety of exciting and challenging clinical responsibilities to best manage the care needs of people who may be subject to CPA, have complex needs, as well as supporting their carers / families. You will be required to have strong communication skills and to demonstrate a desire and ability to meet service demands.

You will be required to assess people at the point of referral into the service and compile a risk assessment and care plan with the involvement of the patient and carer / family. You will be part of the team responsible for overseeing the care and treatment delivery as agreed as well as transferring and signposting people to the most appropriate service following the team's intervention and support.

Registered nurses will be required to assist with and administer medication.

You must be able to demonstrate; excellent clinical skills, being able to work under pressure, work collaboratively with MDT colleagues and supporting service users who present with high levels of acuity and risk. We hold daily MDT meetings, regular reflective practice sessions and case formulations.

In return you will be working closely with existing current team members in identifying best use of resources in a needs-led service, utilising patient focused evidence-based interventions and be a part of the evolution of the service. Your ideas to develop the service and improve the service we deliver is key to how the service operates.
