The Role

Are you dynamic and looking to start your commercial, procurement and supply chain career, supporting clinical and nursing colleagues in a fast pace, critical service? Over the past 2 years, the commercial services department at Homerton University Hospital has undergone a substantial redesign of its function, providing a modern, patient centric, customer focused service.

The apprentice goods receipting officer is responsible for the correct receipt of goods into Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and all the consequential receipting procedures on the Commercial Services Department computer system. Adhering to trust policies & departmental procedures.

Arranging speedy delivery to agreed schedules to all wards and departments.

We are seeking highly motivated team player, who is conscientious, positive and calm individual, who can work under pressure in a challenging environment.

The post holder will be proactive, pragmatic and customer focused. In turn, the post holder will be fully supported and encouraged to develop their own thoughts and ideas to improve the service.

Apprenticeship information

Apprenticeship standard: Facilities Service Operative Level 2

Training Provider: Dynamic Training

Length of programme: 15 - 18 months

The programme will be delivered as blended learning, mostly delivered virtually on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. You will be allocated a Skills Development Coach who will support and guide you for the duration of the apprenticeship. This will include: induction, study days and training courses, mentoring, completion of workbooks or portfolio. You will have structured one to one reviews of your progress with your employer and your Dynamic Training tutor. The programme will incorporate the skills, knowledge and behaviours requirements set within the standard that you need to achieve.

On successful completion you will have an end point assessment with an independent provider.

Eligibility for this apprenticeship
  • Applicants 18 years old or over.
  • Must have been resident in the UK / EU for the last 3 years (evidence needs to be provided)
  • If you already hold this level or higher level qualification in the same field, you are not eligible to apply for this position.

Continuation in the post will be subject to successful enrolment onto the apprenticeship within the first three months of employment, and will also be subject to you remaining on the course and successful completion
