30th and 6th December/January 4th starts - Full time - PSYCHOLOGY GRADUATES wanted who know their objectives with SEN and Mental Health.

If you are sincere regarding your objectives within Autism, social and youth justice/advocacy, you will be working with boys aged 6-18 who have Autism and have significant social, emotional and mental health challenges. The key is to deliver personal and life skills, through a restorative method.

Working 1:1 and in small groups with students who have been through significant traumas, focus on restorative practices. Restorative practices underpin everything that happens within this specialist school for children with MLD/SLD, Autism, Aspergers and OCD.

You must be sincere and understand your objectives, knowing why you want to work with society's most vulnerable students, is the key. You will not always be 'successful' in this role, you must take ego out of the equation and understand improving the children's lives is all that matters, personally and academically.

CAN you demonstrate the value of an education to a child? Can you help give them the skills that can able them to be less vulnerable and susceptible to being manipulated. Empathy drives connection, sympathy drives disconnection - no one wants your sympathy, your students need pragmatism and solutions in this LSA role.

It is important to understand, where the children are coming from and what traumas they have been through and the importance of clear objectives being set for them, making them feel valued within education in the process.
