What will the apprentice be doing?
No two days will be the same. With a focus on developing your leadership and management skills, you'll spend time learning about the railway and the various different functions that make up SWR.
No matter which functions you will be working in, you will acquire the right skills and gain the perfect experience that will compliment your in-class training and at the same time provide our business, customers and stakeholders with a quality end to end journey experience.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be working towards a Level 4 Passenger Transport Operations Manager Apprenticeship which will be delivered by the CIRO (Chartered Institution of Railway Operators).
You will be required to have or achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths tests prior to completion of the apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This apprenticeship will provide a broad overview of the railway and will offer you the opportunity to work in a range of roles.

Things to consider
Because we always need to be alert, we have very strict requirements around drugs and alcohol, and you will need to pass a medical checking your general health. You will also need to be able to complete a number of assessments that make sure you are the right person for this varied role in delivering great journeys for our customers.
