THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT UNTIL END OF FEBRUARY 2022 DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR THE SECONDMENT POSITION, YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR CURRENT LINE MANAGER PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR THIS POST.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Welsh Ambulance Service providing support to Covid-19 Mobile Testing Units (MTUs) based at one of the Trusts centres; Cardiff City Stadium, or Swansea. Testing patients (utilising self-test kit) who are exhibiting Covid-19/Coronavirus symptoms or who have come into contact with an individual who has tested positive for the disease. The Mobile Testing Unit may be required to test members of the public at various locations across Wales, if a local outbreak of Covid-19 is confirmed and additional testing resources are required. This will ensure that applicants must be flexible and adaptable team players, willing to travel across the country with overnight stays (if required). Successful applicants will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, reassuring members of the public who may be unwell or concerned about the requirement to undergo a test, or the testing process itself. You will be required to work a shift pattern (no nights) but must be flexible. You must also be prepared to work outdoors with appropriate training and PPE provided. This is an opportunity to provide real support to the NHS in the fight against Covid-19. If you are an effective communicator, good at dealing with the public in a stressful or potentially challenging situation, we want to hear from you. You must be prepared to drive the Mobile Testing Vehicles. Tell us in no more than 100 words why you feel you have the personal skills & experience to succeed in this role.

Telephone interviews will be held to determine your suitability, with a view for successful candidates to commence in post in November 2021.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless you have permission to work via another route. Non UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply should self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship by visiting Work in the UK. If you are eligible for the Health and Care visa, application costs are lower and you do not need to pay the annual Immigration Health Surcharge.
