Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on lives, health and the economy. The UK Government and its medical and scientific advisors have been clear that the only safe and sustainable way out of the Covid-19 pandemic is through the current vaccination programme.

Aa we continue to deliver this country's largest vaccination programme, we are also continuing to grow our teams. We are seeking people with the appropriate experience to join us, with the common life-saving purpose of recovering our community from this pandemic.

The Vaccination programme is far from over and we need to fill these critical roles, so we would be grateful for your application.

As a seasonal flu and pandemic immuniser will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations for both influenza and the COVID-19 vaccine(s). The post holder will be responsible for administering the vaccine to citizens within a team of staff working in a pod structure as part of the mass vaccination delivery model. Also supporting the staff asymptomatic swabbing programme and care homes in event of an outbreak.

In particular you will be responsible for:
  • Configuration of their vaccination station
  • Administration of the vaccine using the National Protocol.
  • Disposal of clinical waste and change of PPE as per national guidelines
  • Adherence to infection control practices between individuals
  • Swabbing asymptomatic staff and arranging transport of samples.
  • Assisting the care homes with swabbing in the event of an outbreak

Please be advised that due to the nature of the National Large Scale Vaccination Programme, it is not possible to undertake this role working remotely or from home.

We are seeking applications to work across clustered Vaccination Centres on either a Bank or Fixed Term Contract (working a minimum of a minimum of 16 hours a week and be available to work at least 1 weekend shift per month).:

As part of our safe recruitment practice pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed which may include a Disclosure and Barring check and where the position requires you to drive as part of your everyday duties, you will be asked to validate your driving licence online via the DVLA. We will also use technology to ensure the documents you provide are genuine.

If this role involves attendance to any Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated care homes providing nursing, or personal care in England, you will be asked to provide evidence that you have had the double Covid-19 vaccinations, or have a medical exemption

Successful applicants to posts at band 6 or above for which a DBS check is required, will be asked to pay for this as a condition of their job offer (£44 for an Enhanced Check or £27 for a Standard Check). This payment will be deducted from their first month's salary unless a longer pay back period is agreed with the appointing manager. This will not apply to successful applicants who are registered with the DBS Update Service and in possession of the disclosure certificate, for whom an online status check will be undertaken.
