Job Details

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 28,000 staff.

We are responsible for running a family of ten hospitals across seven separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

We are the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England. We are also the lead provider for a significant number of specialised services including Breast Care, Vascular, Cardiac, Respiratory, Urology Cancer, Paediatrics, Women's Services, Ophthalmology and Genomic Medicine.

Our vision is to improve the health and quality of life of our diverse population by building an organisation that:
  • Excels in quality, safety, patient experience, research, innovation and teaching
  • Attracts, develops and retains great people
  • Is recognised internationally as a leading healthcare provider.

Would also consider a Trainee role

As one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK - and with more than 20,000 employees - Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is on an exciting mission to deliver high-quality care to the people of Manchester, Trafford and beyond. Our vision is to create and deliver a seamless 24/7 service that extends beyond excellent care within our nine hospitals to well-supported community services within our Local Care Organisation.

The third largest provider of specialist Services in the NHS, MFT is a forward thinking Academic Science Centre at the heart of Health Innovation and to replicate our status, we're excited to be recruiting a Tutor within the Apprenticeship team to support the continuous implementation of high quality internal delivery of our healthcare apprenticeship programmes (Levels 2 & 3)

As the Tutor to a caseload of Healthcare Apprentices (Employees within the Trust) you'll be a natural Teacher and role model to the Apprentices and ensure the assessment of the apprenticeships and teaching supports evidenced based care across the workforce teams. Would consider a trainee Tutor for candidates with experience in coaching/assessing clinical skills in the workplace

You will be based at Oxford Road and will be required to travel across all hospital sites in order to assess the Apprentices in their place of work.

Both motivated and compassionate, you will contribute to the improvement of standards of care, maintain contract compliance against the Education and Skills Funding Agencies rules, ensuring that the delivery is compliant with the academic and vocational standards prescribed by the awarding organisations supporting Ofsted and all other external inspections.

In addition, you'll bring your amazing project management skills and an ability to think conceptually and 'outside the box' challenging 'what' we do and 'why'. With skillful tact and diplomacy, you'll be confident in positively challenging colleagues and will use an enthused yet meticulous style to deliver a challenging agenda.

It's fair to say this opportunity will undoubtedly bring huge job satisfaction and goes without saying will make a real difference to ensuring our people deliver the very best of care for our patients.

At MFT, we're 'All Here For You' and our patients so join us and share our vision.

MFT is committed to promoting equality of opportunity, celebrating and valuing diversity and eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination across our workforce, ensuring our people are truly representative of the communities we serve.
