If so, then this role could be for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our successful Apprenticeship Scheme in our busy Dental Team based in Worcester

This is an opportunity for a confident individual. The post holder will be part of a busy team providing a comprehensive administrative service to support the team. The role will involve a variety of administrative tasks including telephone call handling, liaising with internal and external contacts, data inputting, reception and general administrative tasks as set out in the job description. The applicant will be expected to have good interpersonal and IT skills and be willing to learn and develop within the team.

Duties will include assisting on a busy reception, booking in of patients and appointments, dealing with telephone calls, greeting visitors and general office housekeeping tasks. Responsibilities will include maintaining full computer records as required.

You will undertake the Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Customer Services and be employed on a 15 month fixed term contract for up to 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with time for formal study towards the apprenticeship. Our Apprenticeship Scheme is delivered in partnership with a local Training Provider to ensure that you are supported through a high quality training programme.

Please note you will not be shortlisted if;

  • You hold a Level 2 (or above) qualification already, in a similar area to the apprenticeship.
  • You have significant customer service experience.

  • To be successful you must be committed to completing the Apprenticeship Training Programme and developing the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the programme.

  • This role is based in Moor Street Clinic Worcester please consider your ability to travel to and from this location a daily basis before applying.

  • Please indicate on your application form that you have achieved 4 GCSE (or equivalent) grade 9 - 4 or A-D (including Maths and English Language) otherwise you will not be shortlisted.


    The selection process for this post will be in several stages;

  • Shortlisting conducted by the Recruiting Manager

  • Formal interview conducted by the Recruiting Manager

  • Following successful Interview: At this stage you will be provided a conditional offer of employment. You will then be required to complete;

  • Initial Assessments set by the Training Provider to confirm eligibility for the Apprenticeship Programme.
  • undertake the Trust's pre-employment check process i.e. references, identity checks etc

  • Once all of the above has been completed satisfactorily you will then be provided with an unconditional offer of employment with an agreed commencement date.

Applicant Requirements - Applicants must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.

Probationary Period - All new appointments are subject to 6 months' probation period .

Priority of Applicants - Please note that applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified/experienced individuals. However prior consideration will be given to applications from individuals who are 'at risk' and employed by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. If an appointment is made from that at risk group, the post will be withdrawn.

Requirement for DBS Update Service - If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, it will be a condition of your employment that you have subscribed and continue to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. Preceptorship for Newly Qualified Staff - The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
