CARDIO-RESPIRATORY DEPARTMENT

Apprentice Cardiographer

Band 2* (Annexe 21) - Banding subject to confirmation

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

Fixed term for 12 months

Due to the development in the Cardio-respiratory services at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 apprentice. We are seeking an individual who can contribute to the non-invasive service. You should be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is able to show a commitment to Healthcare Science and like working with people. You will receive practical training in how to deal with cardiac patients, and how to undertake basic cardiac diagnostic procedures such as ECG and ambulatory monitoring, as well as other clinical skills.

The apprenticeship will last 12 months and include 20% structured off-the-job training before the end-point assessment takes place. You should achieve Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Science.

Successful candidates will be paid as a trainee Cardiographer, as per Annexe 21 of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions (*the banding is subject to confirmation). The post holder will work within Cardiology and Respiratory services at both the BRI and St Luke's hospital sites.

Key requirements and qualities

- Experience of working in a customer service setting or delivering care

- Able to work under pressure

- Good level of literacy and numeracy

- Basic Life support skills

- Able to analyse data and problem solve
