What will the apprentice be doing?

You will spend time studying towards the nursing degree and will undertake a range of placements in a variety of settings as well as being attached to a host team.We have supportive clinical structures which will enable you to build on your existing skills, support service users, develop your practice and enable your career to progress. We work with a number of professions, and in joining our Trust you will have the opportunity to be an important part of this multi-disciplinary team.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training wil be via blocks with the University of Derby delivered virtually or on site. You will work towards either an MSc or BSc Hons Nursing Degree in Mental Health. We have excellent experienced clinical placements and our academic partner is the University of Derby. Jointly we will support you to grow to your full potential. You'll work and learn with the best and we strive to ensure that this is in an environment conducive to getting the best out of your work/life balance.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Following completion of the degree apprenticeship we actively support successful apprentices to gain a permanent role with us as a Registered Nurse. You will then participate in our excellent preceptorship programme to ensure the transition from a student to a registered professional is smooth, supportive and responsive to your needs.

NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or equivalent Health and Social Care (Grade Distinction) Desired
Other Access to HE Course (Grade 60 Credits) Desired
Other IELTS (Grade 7.0 in all areas) Desired

Things to consider

You will meet the entry requirements as listed in the job description for the BSc or MSc apprenticeship programme. Entry requirements for MSc include GCSE maths and English at a grade C/4 or above/equivalent PLUS a 2:2 first degree in any subject or above PLUS 450 hours of evidenced relevant work experience.
