Employer description:

Flexiroute is a web-based demand-responsive passenger transport scheduling system that has been in use for a number of years by Passenger Transport Executives, Local Authorities, Health Trusts, and Community Transport organisations across the UK, Europe and USA providing an efficient and effective solution for managing transport scheduling aimed primarily at SEN, the elderly and people with disabilities.


  • Supporting customers in using our Hosted Software
  • Raising and processing helpdesk tickets
  • Taking incoming support calls from customers
  • Undertaking software testing for system updates
  • Data Migration of system data
  • Training new and existing customers on how to use the software
  • Assisting in other technical areas of the system where needed

 Desirable Skills: 

  • A good technical skillset and background
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 knowledge with a focus on Excel and Word
  • Strong aptitude for learning
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Front of shop customer support or sales experience
  • Good, professional telephone manner
  • A logical approach to problem solvin
  • Exposure to Web Applications using PHP/MySQL
  • Good knowledge of Relational Databases
  • Experience in writing Crystal reports and knowledge of BI solutions
  • Experience in a remote helpdesk environment
  • Exposure to software development lifecycles and processes

Entry requirements:

You need to have 5 GCSE’s

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above
  • 3x GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications. Find out more here.

Working week:

5 days per week
Monday to Thursday 9.00 - 5.00 pm

Friday 9:00 – 16:30 pm [all details will be confirmed with the employer]


You will be paid £346 - £384 per week whilst in your apprenticeship.

Future prospects:

A permanent opportunity will be considered at the employer's discretion after successfully completing the Apprenticeship.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
