What will the apprentice be doing?
Define our solution by working with Systems Engineering to develop requirements and a test strategy. Develop our systems by working as a member of a team to deliver a high quality, robust software deliverable that meets customer requirements, on time and within budget. Support our systems by working with customer support functions to ensure that currently deployed software products are maintained on both land and at sea.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be studying towards a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions, following the Software Engineering Pathway. This is a Gold accredited programme by Tech Partnership Degrees. For the duration of this 4 year programme you will be given one day per week in which to attend Manchester Metropolitan University. For the other four days you will be working in the business, applying your university learning and gaining a breadth of experience within the software function.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of the apprenticeship you be working as a software engineer within the Thales UK businesses. We have opportunities in Defence Mission Systems and Ground Transportation Systems.
