Clinical Skills Tutor - Band 4

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Organisational Development Team at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

We have a vacancy for a secondment or fixed term appointment for a Clinical Skills Tutor. This will be for 37.5 hours per week (with flexibility) on a Band 4. The secondment/fixed term contract will run for 12 months.

The Clinical Skills Tutor will work mainly on the wards/clinics/community within Mid Yorkshire Trust and will also help deliver the Care Certificate in the Training Room at Dewsbury and District, with a base in Trust HQ at Pinderfields General Hospital.

In line with the Department of Health and Social Care guidelines for people working in a Hospital settings this post requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

There is also a need to have access to vehicle with the ability to travel in line with service requirements.

The role is to ensure that Organisational Development meets the needs of new Healthcare Assistants being recruited into the Trust by providing education, training and pastoral care via the delivery and assessment of clinical skills in situ and in the Care Certificate and Skills in Practice Programme which is delivered every month.

The role will also support Bands 2-4 staff who are recruited into Health apprenticeship roles within the Trust by liaising with the apprentices, education providers and the ward manager.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated with some experience of providing education and training to others, however full support will be available to undertake any additional education and training related to the post. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced HCA/HCSW who has the skills and ambition to develop their career within a Practice Education role.
