Base:Sheffield Day Services

Responsible for:The post holder will be responsible, in partnership with the Clinical lead, for clinical input to the adult service users who attend the day service , including provision of hydrotherapy . The service which operates 5 days per week Mon to Fri .

Responsible to:Clinical Lead Physio

Hours:Approximately 20 hours per week

Physiotherapists employed within Cygnet work well as part of integrated multi disciplinary teams , with various specialist interest groups to tap into, including Mental Health, Neuropsychiatry, Autism, Learning Disabilities and Sensory Integration, to name a few.

Overview of site/Ward: Learning Disability Day Services operate to provide activity based services to adults who require specialist support as a result of their lifelong disabilities, many of the service users face complex health support challenges . There are specialist hydrotherapy facilities on site at both services and a strong commitment to getting the best physical outcomes for our service users .

As an Physiotherapist , you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop a treatment programme according to service user's diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

The Successful Candidate should be/have:
  • A registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • Enthusiastic to work in this interesting specialist field .
  • Confident with mainstream physiotherapy skills and knowledge.
  • Keen to take a hands on approach.
  • Able to effectively adapt and evaluate situations.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Keen to work in hydrotherapy , confident in water .
  • Passionate about student education

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
