Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust manages the five NHS adult hospitals in Sheffield including the Northern General Hospital, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Jessop Wing, Weston Park Cancer Centre and the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital.

We provide around one million appointments and operations every year, offering almost all treatments available on the NHS.

While most of our patients are from Sheffield and the surrounding areas, around five percent are from other parts of the country. These patients come to us for specialist treatments which are offered in only a few NHS trusts in the UK.

We are a major employer in the area with around 16,000 people working in our hospitals and in the community. With more than 70 professions and a wide range of jobs, we are the second largest employer in Sheffield.

We have around 15,000 employees, making us one of the biggest employers locally. We aim to reflect the diversity of local communities and are proud of our new and existing partnerships with local people, patients, neighbouring NHS organisations, local authority and charitable bodies.

NHS Professionals (NHSP), owned by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), works in partnership with hospital trusts to provide a bank of highly skilled temporary workers who want to work flexibly within the NHS.
