You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Gregory House, a 24-bed service for adults with mild and moderate-to-severe learning disability/autism with mental health needs, providing care and support to allow people to be as independent as possible with the long-term aim of people moving onto a more independent living setting.

With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, which will see you provide assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes of occupational treatments and programmes for people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Working with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of the occupational therapy service, which will see you carrying out service development projects.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design and deliver facilitated evidence-based group and individual programmes based on their needs and interest to ensure they engage in their care plans.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree
  • Experience working with people with neurological needs
  • Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings
  • Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
