An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the DHU Out of Hours Community Nursing Team, working 3 shifts per week during the evening in Derbyshire. This role involves visiting patients across Derbyshire for the Out Of Hours Community Nursing Service, accompanying the Registered Nurse. The post is varied and offers the successful applicant the opportunity to develop skills working with a diverse client group, in the Derbyshire locality. The postholder will be expected to visit patients in their own homes to assist the Registered Nurse to carry out a variety of Community Nursing tasks. The postholder will be expected to work a flexible rota, to meet the needs of the service. They must be able to drive a DHU company vehicle as this role involves travelling to patients in their own homes. This post is based at Ashgate Manor in Chesterfield.

Essential criteria include the following:
  • Experience of health care assistant role in a variety of settings, but particularly in the community
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with patients at the end of life
  • Ability to work closely with other team members
  • Flexibility and a commitment to this role and the team
  • Full driving licence/car driver essential
