What will the apprentice be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a funded degree in Environmental Health whilst receiving a salary as an apprentice in a small and busy environmental health team located in North Surrey.
As a condition of continued employment it will be necessary to be accepted on and to progress through the degree programme.
We will cover your travel expenses to University and pay for you to become an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will study at the University of Middlesex on their four year Environmental Health (Apprenticeship) BSc (Honours) course commencing Autumn 2020, and when not attending taught classes will work with experienced and professional colleagues supporting all the environmental health functions including food safety, housing, pollution control and health and safety at work.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the four year programme you will have the opportunity of gaining professional status as an Environmental Health Practitioner.

GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade Grade 4/C or above) Essential
Other Science or technology-based subject (Grade 90 UCAS points) Essential
Other relevant experiential learning will be considered (Grade -) Desired
Things to consider
A commitment to complete the four year pathway and enthusiasm for environmental health as a profession and as a career. The placement is in Epsom, Surrey and University campus is located in Hendon, Middlesex. Candidates must have a viable proposal for attending both as required which doesn't involve excessive commuting.
