As an Electronics Engineer in our Glasgow office, you will work as part of the development team and be responsible for technical contributions towards leading edge naval or land based products. This is a great opportunity to work on the latest defence equipment and develop new systems for the MoD and a wide range of customers around the world. This position will challenge your skills and you will have the flexibility to mould the role to suit your strengths and career development interests.
- Build prototypes and test systems

Through our apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand Electronics Engineering from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.
As an Electronics Engineering Apprentice you will be studying at The University of Strathclyde, towards a BEng (Hons) in Engineering Design & Manufacture. During this 4 year apprenticeship you will acquire knowledge through blended and online learning with a strong emphasis on work-based learning.
Upon completion of the programme you will transition into a permanent role within our Optronics business in Glasgow.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self-starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in engineering and Thales. Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve a degree qualification and further their careers with Thales.
You will also need:
Candidates will need at least four Higher qualifications grades AABB including Maths and another STEM based subject.
Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
