A fantastic opportunity to become part of the friendly team at Crimple Garden Centre in Pannal, Harrogate.

We are looking for an Apprentice Retail Assistant to join our team.

 Duties will include ( training will be provided)

  • operating the till at the checkout, taking cash and card payments
  • pricing stock and filling the shelves
  • phoning to order new stock
  • advising customers on plant choice and care
  • setting out displays of plants, pots and garden tools
  • other duties as required

Whilst you are employed as an apprentice retail assistant you will work towards achieving a Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship delivered in the workplace by Babcock Training who will encourage and support you throughout.

Future Prospects  

Position offered for a least the duration of the apprenticeship(15 Months), with possibility of a permanent role offered to a hard working apprentice.

This role requires you to stand for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform are also required.

Must have eligibility to work in the UK and speak a good level of English language.
Whilst on an apprenticeship an apprentice is entitled to an NUS card

Level 2 Retailer Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
