Job Details

Are you one of our Quality Engineers of the future?

Are you fascinated by the latest tech? Are you a strong communicator and a great team player, someone who’s always keen to learn and develop? Are you curious about how we’re transforming banking to meet our customers’ needs? Would you like to help us to be the best bank for Britain?

If you answered yes to one or all of those questions, then the Quality Engineer Apprenticeship could be perfect for you.

You'll be supported by your Line Manager, in-work Buddy and Apprenticeship Learning Mentor. While you’re on the scheme, 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘off the job learning’, which can include attending workshops, shadowing, reading and completing assignments. This means that 80% of your role will involve applying your learning to help build the Bank of the Future.

Is the Quality Engineer Apprenticeship for you?

We’re looking for people with passion, people with potential. Ideally, you’ll be a fantastic collaborator who loves using data and tech to find innovative solutions to everyday problems. You’ll also be rich in logical and creative thinking skills – and thorough and organised in your approach.

In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package which includes salary, bonus, a generous pension contribution, an attractive path of progression and flex cash to spend on a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle. At Lloyds Banking Group, we have a long track record of flexible working, and we’re always open to new ways of improving our people’s work-life balance, therefore open to discussion on working patterns and working hours.

What you’ll learn on the Quality Engineer Apprenticeship

Our software at Lloyds Banking Group is innovative. That’s why we need people to test it at every corner. Trainee Quality Engineers bridge the gap between our software teams and the millions of people across the UK who depend on our products and services every day. They test everything from mobile applications to core banking systems, ensuring that our software is the best it can be.

Day to day, you’ll design and build test strategies for our products. You’ll also implement software testing procedures on software applications – including desktop, web, mobile and more.

The work you could be doing

  • Reviewing Lloyds Banking Group software for functionality and security
  • Developing and collecting all test data to inform further testing and modifications to products (if necessary)
  • Presenting and communicating results effectively using appropriate communication styles and media
  • Advising and supporting others on testing processes and procedures

Is this for you?

What you need to apply

Five GCSEs grade C or above including English and Maths (or equivalent level qualifications). You’ll also need A Levels, preferably in STEM subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
