What will the apprentice be doing?
Gain knowledge of engineering subjects; electronic, mechanical and software engineering. Familiarise yourself with the key techniques and technologies used in the design and implementation of the product. Learn to verify maintenance and operating procedures by assessing on hardware and software equipment. Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Gain knowledge of the different disciplines within the Services function.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
In Year 1 you will attend college 2 days per week to achieve an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In year 2 and Year 3 you will attend 1 day per week to achieve an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In Year 4 you will attend Portsmouth University 1-2 days per week to top up to a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Upon completion of the degree you will go through an End Point Assessment upon which you will achieve the Level 6 apprenticeship.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After the apprenticeship you will be able to work within one of the following disicplines:
o Supportability and Integrated Logistics Support
o Technical Publication and Training Services
o Obsolescence Management
o Component Engineering
o Product Support and Post Design Services

Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSE's Inc Maths, English and a STEM subject (Grade A-C / 4-9) Essential
A Level or equivalent 3 A Levels incl Maths and a further STEM subject (Grade BCC with a B in Maths) Essential
