Skills will be enhanced via workshop and labs where you will be trained in repairing, troubleshooting and installing hardware and software.

You will be providing clients with technical assistance via help desk and may be required to travel to client's sites, both on a day-to-day basis and on project work.

You will be involved with the design and implementation of future IT projects with senior technicians too.

Main responsibilities:
  • Logging of Help-Desk calls
  • Escalating issues to 2nd and 3rd line technicians
  • Speaking to 3rd party vendors
  • Password resets, add removing devices to the network such as printers, phones, pc and other networking equipment
  • Deploying Office 365
  • Ensure timely internal and external communications per SLA
  • Handle Customer calls into Network Operations whilst on shift
  • Ensure detailed handover to next shift of all open issues and planned maintenance
  • Add, remove, configure network devices, updating the monitoring system and documentation


Requirements and prospects

  • Basic network/server administration
  • Networking knowledge
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 operating Systems
  • Understanding of VPNN and Security protocols
  • Driving Licence desirable, or willing to learn to drive advantageous
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of working hours if required.
  • Ability to use own initiative and be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes demanding environment.
  • Hardware and software installation, configuration and maintenance

Desired qualifications

Entry requirements:
  • An A Level in ICT, or
  • An International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT, or
  • A Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject, or
  • A BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits), or
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience within the last 24 months or 18 months in the last 36 months in an IT role. Specific roles that are acceptable are:
  • IT Support roles e.g. Help Desk, First line
  • Software Development Role

  • You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

    If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
