About us

Who are BR?

Blick Rothenberg is part of Azets, which is itself a leading firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across the UK, Nordics and the USA. Blick Rothenberg has approximately 600 people split across four offices within central London. We have seen dramatic growth in recent years as we have brought five offices together and as we continue that journey, we are now looking to invest in our skills set even further!

Many of our clients are part of substantial groups with strong international connections. Others are SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) operated by their owner-managers, High Net Worth individuals, professional firms and charities.

Our values are our motivations

We have four key values, collaborative, authentic, respect and dynamic and these values are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for people who also believe in these drivers as we work together to achieve success for both our colleagues and our clients alike. As a business we believe we are stronger together. We share knowledge, ask for help and empower each other to achieve more collectively. We are open minded and value everyone’s contribution, embracing our differences and fostering a culture of trust and inclusion. We look for people who adapt quickly to change, finding smart ways to deliver the best results and remain one step ahead.

Financial Services

Our Financial Services team (formerly Rees Pollock) has a deep knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, sector-specific tax issues and structuring considerations.

Our team of almost 70 people have been working with private equity and venture capital managers and funds, wealth managers and advisory firms for over 30 years, providing high-quality, bespoke advice to help them establish and grow their business.

We act for more than 180 FCA-authorised firms, including some of the UK’s leading hedge fund managers, private equity houses and corporate finance advisers. Our key financial services clients include some of the longest established hedge fund managers in the UK and several of the largest in Europe, as well as a number of the most successful launches of recent years.

We can advise regulated firms on legal structures regarding the relationships between the funds they manage and the ways that the managers are remunerated. Equally, we know that the personal tax of those managers is often complex due to these same remuneration policies, and we are well placed to advise on this too.

The role

What does the role entail?

This Apprenticeship will see you supporting clients from the Financial Services industry with Outsourced Accountancy tasks such as bookkeeping, preparation of management accounts, account reconciliation, completion of VAT returns and reconciliation, payroll processing, arranging bank payments and liaising with the wider accounts team. You could also manage ad hoc queries from clients and work directly with HMRC.

This would suit someone with a desire to further their education with a professional qualification whilst receiving relevant experience and on-the-job training within a top London practice. For candidates, excellent communications skills are a must, as are the personal skills necessary to work as a team member and maintain good relations with clients. It is expected that candidates will be able to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills.

This role will see you complete the AAT Level 3 & 4, and you may have to opportunity to continue on to complete the ACCA/ACA following successful completion.
