Join our Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and you can make an immediate impact, powering the nation today whilst helping to build a sustainable energy future for tomorrow.

“I enjoy getting involved in all of the digital and IT projects and understanding how they’re going to be used for Hinkley Point C (HPC) power station.  Working on such an important project, I really feel that I’m part of a community trying to get HPC to the finish line. It has given me so much valuable experience and I look forward to working every day.”
Rachel Elliott, Apprentice

The Business Administration Apprenticeship Programme:

We’re recruiting for apprentices to join our Business Administration training programme, working as part of one of the most exciting projects at EDF: the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC) power station in Somerset.

This 21-month apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Business Administration Advanced qualification and spend time in different departments of the HPC project, undertaking a variety of roles that will help you develop a wide range of Business administration skills that are key to all areas of business.

Training, development and support for you:

During the training programme your time will be split between studying at college and learning on the job in our business.

You’ll attend the National College for Nuclear in Cannington, Somerset, one day a week and study remotely using BlackBoard, the College's virtual learning environment.

Within our business you’ll spend time working with the Business Performance & Digital Hub team in our Aztec West office (Bristol) and the Pre-Operations team (near Bridgwater).

The Business Performance & Digital Hub is responsible for maintaining the IT systems that enable HPC to operate day to day. The Pre-Operations team is responsible for developing all areas required to operate a nuclear power station for the 60 years planned lifetime of the station.

Your placements in these areas will offer the chance to perform a variety of tasks that will positively contribute to your own personal development, knowledge and experience in Business Administration.

You’ll have plenty of support along the way too – from your Tutors at National College for Nuclear, to your EDF Career Manager and our Early Careers team; as well as face-to-face support at our on-site Apprentice Hub and digital access to relevant information, learning and care.

Gaining a recognised qualification and business experience will open the door to a range of opportunities within EDF.  You may continue on the business administration route, start a journey to become an engineer or even look to progress up the ladder and develop towards becoming a team leader in one of the station teams.

Head to our Careers website for more information about Apprentice life at EDF.

Where you’ll work:

The base for this role is Bridgwater, Somerset, for easy access to the college and HPC construction site. You’ll need to live within commuting distance of Bridgwater and we can provide more information during the recruitment process.

What you’ll need to apply:

  • Five GCSEs in the A* to C or 9 to 4 range including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
  • You'll be self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop
  • You'll have the ability to work in a team and independently, as well as being able to balance the responsibilities of study and work

What salary and benefits are we offering you?

  • Starting salary of £12,000
  • 25 days’ annual leave
  • Flexible benefits package
  • Wellbeing and support services
