HD Clinical are looking for a Software Tester to test a range of software systems based on different platforms. The role will require the Software Tester to ensure that software released is of an acceptable quality, in line with both company and customers' requirements and to meet software release deadlines. A good knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing is essential.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Creation and maintenance of test cases and test plans
  • Record, validate and track defects in software functionality in line with the system requirements
  • Execution of tests and test scripts
  • Review of software requirements


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Proficiency working with issue tracking systems (preferably Team Foundation Server)
  • Define and create test cases from analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Organised with attention to detail
  • Detailed written and verbal skills
  • Strong teamwork skills as communication is key with the developers, support team and sales
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment developing software using an agile style methodology


Personal qualities

  • Testing of the products is of critical importance as they are used directly in the care of patients in hospital and errors have the potential to cause significant harm
  • The role requires a person who is able to communicate well with the other staff members and in particular the development and support teams
  • Reliability is a key requirement both in terms of attendance and performance


Desired qualifications

  • 5 x GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)
