Digital Marketing Apprentice
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: 16 month FTC, Full-time
Hours of Work: 37.5 (80% on the job / 20% learning)
About the Role
Abcam, a rapidly expanding bioscience organisation, are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Digital Marketing Apprentice. As a Digital Marketing apprentice, you will provide support to the Performance Marketing Team and develop your skills within Digital Marketing.
As a member of the Performance Marketing team, you will be working with other specialists to deliver on our 2018 growth targets. You will sit in our growing E-commerce team to maximise the online visibility of our brand and product offering globally across multiple online media channels. You will be working alongside other specialists to support our growing digital footprint.
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual keen to gain practical experience within a fast-paced and successful team, while completing a nationally recognised qualification. You will be empowered to take initiatives, make decisions and manage your own workflow. You will work closely with and learn from a team of highly dedicated and passionate Digital Marketing professionals.
This role is perfect for someone who is looking to get an insight into the world of Search Engine Optimisation, with the option of exploring more digital channels and activity where required.
Apprenticeship level - Level 3 - Advanced Apprenticeship
Expected apprenticeship duration - 16 months
Qualification awarded -Level 3 Digital Marketer
Affiliate (professional)member of CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing_ and/or Associate member of BCS.
Entry on to the Register of IT Technicians (those completing their apprenticeships are eligible to apply for registration)
Roles and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)
* Conduct content gap analysis
* Work with the content team to identify how best to optimise the content pages for SEO
* Conduct keyword research for content pages
* Work with technical SEO's to identify broken links and redirect chains
* Work with category managers to identify alternatives for broken internal links
* Prepare project deliverables with a high level of quality
Salary
GBP14,000 with regular GBP500 increases every 6 months based on performance and successful completion of exams and a GBP1000 bonus at the end of apprenticeship based on the same conditions
About you
You will be an enthusiastic and driven individual with excellent organisation and time-management skills, looking to gain digital marketing experience whilst working in a fast-paced office environment.
You will have a proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach, with a strong desire to learn and develop. You have strong communication skills both verbal and written and you will need to be highly reliable and punctual.
You feel confident using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel & Outlook, are organised and methodical as well as having a solid attention to details.
Qualification/ requirements
* You must hold 5 GCSEs (graded A* to C or 9 to 5) or equivalent.
* Have Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
* Have been a resident in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years.

Future prospects
After completing this apprenticeship, you could typically continue to a next level Apprenticeship or take on a full-time position in an organisation.
At Abcam, we very much encourage internal promotions and movement and therefore there could be permanent opportunities for you in either in the Digital Marketing team or another department. This is dependent on your performance and successful completion of exams throughout the apprenticeship.
