Are you looking for a new challenge and a rewarding progressive career in Children's Mental Health Nursing or Learning Disability Nursing in the North East of England?

Due to an expansion of our Children and Young Peoples Inpatient Services at CNTW we are looking for caring, empathetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a passion to improve the lives of children and young people who require care in an inpatient setting. Staff coming into our Children and Young People's inpatient services will have excellent opportunity for both personal development and career progression.

We have a range of full, part time and flexible bank opportunities. As a Clinical Lead you will be instrumental in the provision of effective and strong team leadership, and the monitoring, supervision, guidance and role modelling to thewider clinical and nursing team in the delivery of quality clinical interventions. You should be able to recognise and balance the need for support and challenge and facilitate critical reflection. You should have the ability to think on your feet and work as part of a team, whist giving clear direction about what is required and how to achieve it.

The post involves supporting children, young people and their families to ensure their emotional, physical, educational and recreational needs are met at a difficult time in their lives.

Whilst having knowledge and experience of Children and Young Peoples mental health and learning disability services is desirable having the right values and attitudes and the desire to work in a challenging but rewarding environment is essential.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be motivated to engage and adapt to fast-changing patient presentations in a dynamic ward environment. You will be able to demonstrate skills in promoting good relationships and effective communication with children and young people, their relatives and carers, all members of the team, as well as multi-agency colleagues.

We will provide you with a comprehensive induction period and have access to ongoing clinical supervision and appraisal with development review that will provide you with support and the specialist skills required to meet the holistic needs of the children and young people in your care.

For Registered Nurses you will have access to and be supported to undertake a bespoke Level 6 Specialist Children and Young Peoples accredited learning programme delivered in conjunction with our Training Academy.

Due to government legislation all patient facing employees must have received both COVID19 immunisations. Whilst this legislation does not come into force until April 1st, the Trust has made the decision to make this a condition of employment prior to this time. The requirement for mandatory vaccinations is therefore contained within employment contracts .
