COVID-19 Vaccinations

Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust are currently recruiting for a Project Officer to join our team at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, Cornwall.

This is a diverse and challenging position working as part of the the Operational Projects team at Royal Cornwall Hospital. You will be responsible to the Senior Project Manager for management and delivery of minor works projects across the Estate as well as assisting with larger. You will be working with a variety of building services including:
  • Buildings structure
  • Electrical and mechanical systems for example
    • Plumbing and medical air delivery systems
    • Ventilation and air handling
    • Fire detection and alarm
    • Nurse call

This is a hands-on position where you will utilise your existing project management experience to help improve services at the hospital to provide the best conditions for staff and patients. We have several projects already underway such as upgrades to the hospital fire alarm system and electrical distribution system. The majority of the work will be carried out by contracting firms and a large part of the job is contractor management. Further development opportunities are available and with appropriate training and experience, career progression. You will work Monday to Friday, some flexibility will be required as some work may require out of hours attendance.

What you'll bring with you

C&G Level 3 qualification in Building services or an M+E engineering discipline

Experience of delivering and managing M+E projects

Experience of working in multi-stakeholder environments or on multi-stakeholder projects

M+E building services and systems knowledge

High standard of written and verbal communication skills
