Emperor is an independent employee-owned strategic creative consultancy. They specialise in reporting, digital, engagement and brand communications and operate from offices in London, Edinburgh, Warwick, Manchester and Dubai.

They are now looking for a Social and Environmental Impact Executive Apprentice to join their team!

Key Responsibilities

This is a new apprenticeship role within Emperor and is a great opportunity to learn about how the creative industry works while developing key skills to start your career through practical hands-on experience.

The Responsible business executive has a key role in supporting senior colleagues in the coordination, management and delivery of Emperor’s responsible business agenda. The role includes: 

Driving positive impact – ­You will be central to the design and coordination of programmes and the cascading of messaging and driving action throughout Emperor. You will be organised and efficient and, most of all, personable in the way you work with colleagues, building and maintaining effective working relationships with key internal people and teams, and external partners.  

Championing Responsible Business Agenda - You will contribute to Emperor’s thought leadership programme, leading and collating research and sharing findings through compelling content and creative campaigns. You will create and keep materials up-to-date for internal and external communications.

Always learning – continuously scanning best practice to keep ahead of current and emerging initiatives, regulations, market practices and standards, identifying the implications for Emperor. 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Own and deliver initiatives and campaigns that contribute to achieving Emperor’s responsible business ambitions
  • Identify and build internal relationships in order to foster buy-in to existing and future responsible business initiatives with the aim of integrating ethical policies and behaviour into everyday business practices
  • Contribute to regular communications to promote initiatives and update colleagues across the business on responsible business best practice
  • Contribute to the development of the business’ responsible business strategy. Work with colleagues to devise specific plans that build on the business's existing social and environmental impact
  • Collect and input data from across the business in order to contribute said data to industry and mandatory reporting requirements e.g. Modern Slavery Act, Gender Pay Gap etc
  • Quality-assure internal and external projects and campaigns, both in the UK and where applicable in other countries, to ensure that responsible business activities are compliant with regulatory standards
  • Identify relevant social and environmental risks to the business and escalate internal and external stakeholders accordingly. Recognise risks to own organisation’s corporate reputation, whether through action or inaction, recommending actions to remedy the issue
  • Keep abreast of developments to ensure the business is aware of current and future opportunities and challenges in relation to social & environmental issues
  • Identify and engage with partners that reflect the attributes of Emperor’s responsible business programme.

Entry Requirements

  • - You’ll need to pass a face to face screening interview with our Talent Team (don’t worry, we’re a friendly bunch) and sit initial assessments in Maths and English.
  • You will be asked detailed questions about both the role and apprenticeship

 

Skills Required

  • Demonstrate interest of the responsible business landscape and sustainability topics
  • Excellent research and data analysis skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a simple way
  • The ability to write and edit effective content to capture and communicate responsible business activities via a range of channels 
  • Able to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands and meet deadlines  
  • Organised, can multi-task, proactive and adept at building relationships and networks
  • Successfully delivering impactful internal and external communications 
  • Be a strong communicator - comfortable and effective when working across all levels of an organisation
  • Have a 'can do' positive mentality
  • Be able to work alone and as part of team
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint
