Key responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming support calls, providing a friendly and helpful first point of contact
  • Dealing with users on the telephone and in-person to determine issues quickly and clearly
  • Managing personal Service Desk ticket queue ensuring ticket data is clear, concise and up to date
  • Ensuring the SLA is met at all times.
  • Providing excellent customer service from start to finish
  • Configuring wireless controllers and access points to deploy our solutions
  • Configuring new computers ready for the client to use.
  • Managing deployments from a customer perspective to ensure success (from start to finish)
  • Assessing issues quickly, taking appropriate action to escalate when required
  • Managing new hardware installs of PCs/tablets/mobiles to customers
  • Daily maintenance of I.T. equipment, i.e., syncing printers, hardware repairs
  • Desktop Support of Microsoft Windows devices.
  • Microsoft Active directory - change passwords, update settings, create and delete users
  • Microsoft 365 tenancy - manage user accounts, reset passwords, access settings, and solve problems.


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be approachable with strong people skills
  • A basic understanding of the fundamentals of networking. e.g., equipment required and the basics of TCP/IP
  • Prior Office 365 experience - create new users, update email addresses, change forwarding, check mailbox sizes


Personal qualities

  • Strong ability to self-learn and progress


Desired qualifications

It is a requirement to have GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent)in maths and Englishto apply for this type of apprenticeship. It is also beneficial to hold prior qualifications at Level 3 (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related course with proven experience in I.T.

Future prospects

During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with The Apprentice and Training Partnership, delivered through combined classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning, at the end of which you will have the abilityto work as a Network Engineer.

Additional Information

Work from home / office is negotiable post probationary period.
