What will the apprentice be doing?
Unlike other working environments Roke maintains a project orientated structure. This allows and encourages you to "try out" a variety of skills and roles throughout your career. You could finish an Artificial Intelligence Python project then move onto a Vison processing C++ project. You might also split your weeks with Bidding activities and running a small team. There's a large amount of flexibility by design and it's up to you how you engage with this feature.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will receive on the job training at Roke HQ whilst taking day release to complete a BSc (Hons) DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS (SOFTWARE ENGINEER) at the University of Winchester
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
These degrees will encompass areas of sensor data analytics, network infrastructures, modern cyber threats, software development and the use of analytical tools. These are highly specialised subjects which are continually evolving and in high demand in today's technology-driven industries. Outside of studying, you'll have a unique opportunity to apply your new knowledge and gain invaluable experience working on new technologies.
