Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

We are seeking to recruit an innovative and passionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health to join our dynamic inpatient Occupational Therapy team.

This post is based on one of our female mental health wards where you will work in a well-established multi-disciplinary team, offering group and one to one interventions supported by a small team made of an activity coordinator, peer support worker and physiotherapy technical instructor.

Our inpatient Occupational Therapists work holistically, and the service is underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation. In the role you will draw on a wide range of Occupational Therapy specific assessments to fully understand an individual's occupational identity, current functioning, and goals for recovery. You will be supported to develop your competency in completing these assessments and identifying specific areas for personal development.

Within the post there is an opportunity to work collaboratively with members of the ward team (including the inpatient social work team), occupational therapy colleagues across the inpatient wards and join the wider occupational therapy network within Oxfordshire.

We are proud of our well established and close working inpatient Occupational Therapy network. You will be clinically supervised, and supported by, the inpatient clinical lead occupational therapist. The inpatient occupational therapy team meet regularly, locally, for complex case reviews and business meetings, supporting each other and sharing our learning and clinical perspectives. We work closely with our Inpatient Occupational Therapy colleagues in Buckinghamshire to develop quality, evidence-based pathway and ensure equity of provision for service users accessing Oxford Health inpatient services.

We are looking for someone passionate about supporting people in mental health distress and you will need to demonstrate your ability to effectively manage a caseload in a busy ward, developing and carrying out Occupational Therapy intervention plans. It is also essential to have well developed communication skills to be an effective clinician and team player. And an awareness of how you maintain your resilience and motivation.
