The research fellow will work for 3 years towards a PhD degree supervised by Dr. S. Saadoun and Prof. M.C. Papadopoulos within the Neurosurgery Department. The project involves collection and analysis of multi-modality monitoring data from patients with acute spinal cord injuries and helping with the DISCUS trial.

Key attributes of the successful applicant include:
  • Holds UK National Training Number in Neurosurgery [essential]
  • Successful attainment of at least ST4 level clinical training in Neurosurgery [essential]
  • Satisfactory progress in last Neurosuregry ARCP [essential]
  • BA or BSc, at least 2.i [desirable]
  • Experience with microdialysis / tissue oxygen monitoring [desirable]
  • Original problem solving and good organizational skills [essential]
