The Young Adults Team is developing an exciting new way of working which will see Social Workers and Adult Support Co-ordinators working in a highly supportive environment, being led by an increased number of Senior Social workers, alongside the Team Manager, who can share their wealth of experience and knowledge to support ongoing professional development for team members. The team continues to expand in response to demand and this enables workers to benefit from carefully managed caseloads which reflect their experience and skill set. There continues to be a raft of opportunities for joint working with a range of other departments and provider services, which means that no two days are ever the same. There is always something new to learn!

An opportunity has recently arisen for a full-time Social Worker post in the Young Adult's Team, for 37 hours a week.

The Young Adults Team is a countywide team based at Scott House Huntingdon. As well as offering a degree of remote working, the Young Adults Team are fortunate to have an office based in the incredible town of Huntingdon with easy access to local shops, restaurants and community facilities. The Young Adults Team support Adults 18-25yrs with a diagnosed learning disability who have an EHC Plan. We are looking for a dynamic, committed and passionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of young people, working alongside other professional colleagues to promote the principles of personalisation, encouraging independence, choice and opportunities for young people.

Knowledge and experience of working with people with a learning disability is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act is important as well as direct experience in managing own caseload in previous roles.

We are a fun, friendly and supportive team who work together in a unique way to improve the lives of the young people we support.

IMPORTANT: This role will require you to enter the premises of a CQC-registered care home as part of your employment. Regulations which come into force from 11th November will require employees over 18 who enter CQC-registered care homes in Englandto have completed a full course of authorised COVID-19 vaccine doses at least 2 weeks before 11thNovember, unless they have a medical exemption. As part of your pre-employment checks you will need to provide evidence of your vaccinations or medical exemption. Your employment will not commence until this evidence is received.
