An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Emergency Gynae Unit for Band 2 Nursing Assistants. We are part of Saint mary's Managed Clinical Service and are based on the Wythenshawe site. We care for ladies experiencing problems in early pregnancy and gynaecological issues that require immediate attention.

We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking enthusiastic staff to work closely with our strong team of Specialist Nurses to achieve excellent and personalised care for our patients.

You will have the opportunity to develop basic nursing skills such as, ECG recording, venepuncture, cannulation and taking and recording clinical observations.

You will need to have:

· Level 2 NVQ/Apprenticeship in Health and Care
· Excellent communication skills - in particular listening skills
· A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
· A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
· The ability to work well in a team

This unit is a 24 hour emergency service and will involve weekend working and night shifts.

From 11th November 2021, it has been a mandatory requirement for Care Home workers to have had first and second COVID-19 vaccinations or to evidence medical exemption in order to comply with Government legislation.

From 1st April 2022 all NHS workers in England who have face to face or incidental contact with patients must have had their first and second vaccinations for COVID-19. Only those with medical exemptions will be excluded from this requirement.

This mandatory requirement may apply to this position. If it does apply, you will be asked to provide evidence of vaccinations / exemption as part of the employment checks if you are offered the position.

We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction in the first 3 months following start in post. The amount of £26.85(standard disclosure) or £43.85(enhanced disclosure) If you wish to withdraw once a DBS application has commenced you will be still liable for payment.
