We are seeking to recruit a time served Multi-skilled Engineer to the following vacancy within our Estates Department, mainly based at Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, however you will be expected to work at all locations within the Health Board.

You will have previous experience, preferably in a NHS setting. You will have sound written and verbal communication skills and basic keyboard skills. You will contribute to the maintenance and efficiency of plant and utilities throughout the Health Board properties including the installation, testing and repair duties on Electrical/Mechanical services and equipment. This will also include flexible working as part of a team which provides cover to the sites and you will participate on a shift rota.

You will have served a recognised Apprenticeship and ideally hold a BTEC/HNC Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Qualification.

Band 4 + RRP (£2,600 per annum) + Shift enhancements, participating in a 5 week rotation shift pattern working days, afternoons and nights.

The post holder will be a member of the estates maintenance team responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs and planned preventative maintenance for buildings within the trust by using specialist knowledge and skills gained from training, experience and appropriate qualifications.

The post holder will carry out their duties in an efficient manner with full awareness, understanding and compliance with the trusts health and safety and infection control policies and procedures and in particular the maintenance departments safe systems of work and working practices which includes being aware of permits to work and when they need to be used.

The post holder will be required to work under pressure in emergency situations where failure to act promptly or safely may result in serious injury, damage or loss of life.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh applicants are equally welcome to apply.
