Location/Trust: Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust

Wards Covered: Chertsey, Guildford, Epsom

Pay Rates: Days: £12.16 per hour, (rates include holiday pay)

We have flexible Bank shifts, long term placements and substantive opportunities available for Band 2 Mental Health Care Support Workers available at Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust (SABP)

One in four people in the UK will experience mental health issues at some point in their lives. SABP are passionate about support and recovery for both those affected and their loved ones.

SABP are commissioned to provide secondary mental health services across Surrey and NE Hampshire, both in the community and within inpatient settings.

Skills/Responsibilities:

To apply for this post, you will:
  • Mimimum of 6 months MH CSW UK (Private or NHS) hospital / UK Prison / Care Home experience within the last 2 years or Currently studying Adult Mental Health Nursing (Student Nurse) and completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placement. All CSWs must either be a Student Nurse, have attained a level 2 (or above) NVQ/QCF/BTEC/Apprenticeship Diploma in Health and Social Care Post 2011 or hold a Care Certificate from a NHS Organisation.
  • Experience of working within a mental health hospital or mental health care home setting.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping
  • Be able to work as an independent practitioner
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients
  • Undertake regular mandatory training


In order to apply for this post you must have at least 6 months experience as a Mental Health Care Support Worker (or equivalent position) in a mental health hospital or mental health care home setting within the last 2 years. Along with the skills to carry out basic clinical observations. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications without the required experience and Care Certificate qualification.
