The role

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career with our ‘earn as you learn apprenticeship programme; to join the Lockton Human Resources division as an Apprentice, during a period of innovation and evolution.

The role will offer the chance to spend time in each section of the HR team, in order to get a fully rounded insight into our People function.

What's in it for you…?

You will be employed as a permanent Lockton employee from day one and immediately start learning about our business, gaining technical knowledge and guidance from knowledgeable mentors on your path to success.

You will work towards the Level 3 HR Support qualification with the longer term career opportunity to become fully accredited by the CIPD.

The HR Support Apprenticeship course is 16 months and through this programme you will develop a range of logical and analytical skills, learning how HR works in practice as you combine learning with the day-to-day management of people in your organisation. As HR integrates with every part of a business you will master excellent communication skills and learn how to deal with situations effectively, sensitively and within the limitations of legal and business processes.

You will be fully supported throughout the programme, by Lockton Associates and expert tutors. You will have access to a Coach who is on hand to guide you through each stage of your learning journey, providing you with clear aims and objectives.

You will attend workshops to develop particular skills related to this programme. These also provide a great opportunity to build relationships with your dynamic community of likeminded talent in the form of other learners, tutors, coaches and mentors. You will also have access to a Virtual Learning Environment with resources and step-by-step support to ensure your success.

Training Provided

As a HR Support Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the HR Support Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, which is aligned with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Upon completion you will be awarded the CIPD Foundation Certificate and you will be able to apply for Membership of CIPD.

The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses.

Qualifications Required

A Levels (or equivalent) and 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English

Personal Skills & Qualities

  • A diligent honest and collaborative approach, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)/ similar software applications
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Enthusiasm, ability to demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn
