- To provide agreed support to the programme of childcare within the nursery
- To participate fully within the nursery team and to actively promote team working
- To provide the daily care and education of the children
- To apply the daily programme and activities
- To ensure that equal opportunities are operating correctly by monitoring and evaluating practices
- To maintain children's records in whichever room the post holder is assigned to
- To liaise with parents and colleagues and other community groups as designated and agreed with the Room leader
MainDuties - Nursery Nurses will:
- Ensure all children are given the opportunity to enjoy stimulating play activities in a caring, warm and safe environment
- Ensure that all activities are appropriate to the child's age, abilities and needs and age
- Ensure that children receive an appropriate snack, drink and meal, and will ensure that any special dietary requirements are catered for
- Be accountable for the high standards of cleanliness and safe condition of the toys and equipment, reporting any that are not in working condition
- Be responsible for recording any accidents and incident involving children, visitors or staff. These will be reported to the Nursery Manager and an accident form completed and an entry into the accident book must be made
Job Description - Nursery Nurses will:
- In the absence of the team leader the Nursery nurse will be responsible for ensuring that parents receive a verbal feedback at the end of the day on their child and all forms are signed
- Observe the agreed policies and practices within the Nursery, especially the Safeguarding. Promote good relations between children, colleagues, parents, visitors and their worker. Be fully conversant with the Health and Safety policy and on fire/emergency procedures. Observe rules of confidentiality in respect of children gained in the course of employment at the Nursery
- To participate in arrangements for your Induction, supervision, training and development. To undertakequalifications deemed necessary by the Director/manager to fulfil the requirements of the post
- To participate in your own Performance Management arrangements, and any discussions, agreements and training needs are identified and documented
- Will not bring mobile phone or other electronic devices, that house a camera, into the nursery building
General:
- Big Robins Nursery operates a strict non-smoking policy. Staff are expected to refrain from smoking whilst on duty
