About the apprenticeship


Bench test products using the WCCTV computer software based on the production schedule taking instruction from the Production Team leader;
Complete test sheets and update logs via PC; and
Be involved in regular stock counts.

Tower Production / Quarantine

Test and repair the WCCTV Rental stock to ensure assets are Rental ready within the agreed Service Level Agreements;
Update the quarantine sheets to ensure all elements of the rental stock are tested in accordance with the agreed testing process;
Prepare, assemble and test all aspects of the tower production department in accordance with the agreed procedures;
Test and repair the WCCTV tower stock to ensure towers are sale or rental ready within the agreed SLA; and
Follow the quarantine process to ensure all elements of the tower stock are tested in accordance with the agreed procedures.

Other Warehouse Duties

Assist with all areas of work in the warehouse during busy periods;
Adhere to the working practices of the warehouse at all times;
Undertake relevant training as required by the Directors of the company;
Any other duties within the level of competence as requested by the Directors or Senior Management of the Company; and
To ensure that all procedures are adhered to as stipulated in the WCCTV Quality Procedures and Quality Policy in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Interview arrangements

Suitable candidates may be invited to an informal interview at the training provider (XR Training) before having their CV forwarded directly to the employer. This will be to ensure suitability for the apprenticeship programme. You will then be under consideration for final interview which will take place at the employers' premises. If selected, the training provider will contact you with details of the interview.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
