The Level 4 Sports Coach apprenticeship is aimed at any advanced coach working in a school sport, community sport or high performance sport environment. The standard will support coaches to use extensive technical and tactical sports knowledge and skills to design and deliver coaching programmes that engage, motivate and evolve participants' skills and performance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your coaching skills and further your personal development with this L4 qualification which includes the first year of a degree.

Duties will include:
  • Assisting in the delivery of the academic day delivering PE and After School Clubs within Primary Schools.
  • Working across a variety of schools and placements, coordinating and delivering programmes to the highest quality standard and including inclusivity for all participants
  • During the school holidays, to deliver our holiday camps at one of our venues.
  • To plan, prepare and implement well-structured and progressive sport coaching programmes ensuring a high quality and enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of the participants.
  • To carry out administrative duties as necessary, maintain accurate attendance registers, carry out risk assessments, monitor and evaluate assessment of coaching sessions.
  • To ensure that the safety of participates is prioritised at all times.
  • To focus on one area of expertise for the Apprenticeship - either School Sport, Community Sport or High Performance Sport - most appropriate pathway to be discussed at interview

Future prospects

The successful candidate will go onto to receive job related training, undertake any further courses within the Community Sport area plus the possibility of a job should one become available at the end of the apprenticeship.
