In Rolls-Royce Control Systems, we have decades of experience in supplying safety-critical controls and solutions to aerospace customers around the world. For you, our Electrical & Electronic Degree Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to get directly involved in developing electronic engine control systems (or the 'brain' of the engine) that can operate in the harshest environments. Not only that, but you'll learn and develop your technical skills on electric and hybrid-electric power systems and contribute to helping us achieve our ultimate ambition – to reach net zero carbon emissions, pioneering more sustainable power for us all.
Over four years, you’ll develop invaluable technical skills from digital and analogue design, all the way through to testing and manufacturing. You’ll work with world-class experts, learning hands on, and applying the theory you've learnt as part of your fully sponsored degree. As well as the outstanding support you'll enjoy from the beginning of the programme, and the debt-free qualifications you'll receive at the end of it, you’ll get the chance to build your electrical and electronics engineering career in an environment where you can be yourself and be your best.
What you’ll do
You’ll be working with expert colleagues on innovative projects. It’s exciting work, especially because you’ll be based in our state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility in Solihull. From research, design and test, to build, modify and develop, everything here is done under one roof. It’s an unrivalled environment that will inspire you to do work that you can be truly proud of.
Day to day, you’ll develop your research, design and testing skills to use in a hands-on environment. You’ll contribute to projects that really make a difference. The next revolution in aviation, electric flight has begun and you'll be a part of it - you could find yourself contributing to the fastest all-electric plane the world has ever seen, our 'Spirit of Innovation', which features pioneering technology that will play a fundamental role in enabling flight to be much greener. Or our Defence work on 'Tempest' with the Royal Air Force and other industry partners, playing a part in the next-generation fighter jet to protect society.
